What We Believe

ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM

Ephesians 4:1-6

1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3 Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

OUR VISION

Our desire at Mt. Carmel is to be a church family that is rooted in the Word of God and prayer. We aim to exalt God through authentic worship, to demonstrate Christ's love for mankind in a tangible way, and to prepare disciples to carry out the redemptive ministry of Christ in our neighborhoods in the City of Dayton, and the entire world.

OUR CORE VALUES

Acknowledge that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God and Savior of the world. (John 1:1-14, 15:1-8)

Believe that salvation is through the grace of God and "not of works lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 5:8-11)

Recognize the Bible as being inerrant and serves as the ony sufficient guide for the church and the Christian life. (II Timothy 3:16; Proverbs 30:5)

Practice the immersion of believers as a Biblical act that symbolizes an outward sign of an inward change. (Mark 16:16; Romans 10:9-10)

Observe the Lord's Supper as a central act of Christian worship. (Luke 22:15-19; I Corinthians 11:23-26)

Encourage our members to develop in their lives the mind and manner of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 11:26; I Peter 2:17)

Invite into our fellowship all who commit themselves to the Lordship of Christ in terms of His will in the New Testament. (II Timothy 2:15; II Timothy 4:2)
